Many athletes, such as former NFL wide receiver, Jerry Rice, give credit to regular chiropractic care for their outstanding performance and low incident of injury. Rice played 20 seasons, which is very uncommon for a wide receiver. Due to the injuries of this position, most wide receivers are forced to retire early. Making sure that the spine is in alignment helps to keep the extremities strong and lessen the incidence of injury during physical activity, especially for an athlete who overuses their body.

What to Expect:
We address 3 key points to help you achieve optimal health.
When assessing the extremity, we first assess the spinal column. Seems odd, doesn’t it? Not necessarily. Our nervous system is made up of our brain, spinal cord, and spinal nerves that spread out to the periphery to control everything in our body, including organs, muscles, and extremities. For example, the most common treatment of severe carpal tunnel is an operation at the wrist area. Some people come out of the operation still complaining of pain and numbness in their hands. The problem wasn’t just in their wrist and hands, but it was also coming from a misalignment in the spine, causing pressure on the nerve that supplies the wrist. For this reason, adjusting or rehabbing the extremity without addressing the cause (the spine) first, is not very effective. Many times after the spine is adjusted, the extremity complaint goes away or the intensity of the discomfort reduces.
Another example would be flipping the light switch on and off continuously and wondering why there is no light. The cause may be that there is no electricity in the building. You get the point, find the cause and stop chasing the symptoms.
What Our Patients Say
I had injured my shoulder falling out of a handstand while exercising at the gym. The pain gradually became unbearable with my scapula out of place, my humerus (upper arm bone) was twisted, and I had tendinitis. All this lead to frozen shoulder, which was some of the most excruciating pain I've felt in my life.
I came to see Dr. Quan regularly, often twice a week, as I received the care I needed to recover and heal. After many adjustments and showing me what I could do on my own to heal faster, including exercises, heat/cold therapy, and proper nutrition, my shoulder is now completely healed.
Having my shoulder healthy again affects everything in my life and entire body, including my sleep, my energy, my ability to work, and to live healthy and happy.
Quan Chiropractic has a calm and serene energy from the moment you walk in. Heidi, the chiropractic assistant, is always friendly and caring, and I always get in to see Dr. Quan quickly. Dr. Quan has just the right balance of professionalism and friendliness, and is genuinely kind and caring. I have so benefited from receiving care from Dr. Quan that my 20-year old son sees her on a regular basis too.
In 2009 I was working as a Courtroom Clerk for District Court involving Civil and Criminal cases. After completing a trial with my Judge we were all looking forward to a restful weekend. Unfortunately, my weekend was spent in a hospital.
I was told that I had two herniated disc in my neck, so they inserted a metal plate to stabilize the area. I had a wonderful surgeon and my recovery was good.
Due to the nature of my work, my neck was still sore and tight after I returned to work. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. There was no one I could trust to touch my neck, especially for an adjustment since I had work done in my neck.
A girlfriend told me about Dr. Quan and all the wonderful things she was able to do. Poor sleeping posture and sudden jolts would aggravate my neck. I knew I had to do something.
I decided to give Dr. Quan a try and to my delight I have no pain in my neck and I am living a healthier lifestyle. I always enjoy my visits to the office because it is a calm and peaceful environment. The laughter that we share leaves me feeling loved and cared for. The nut bar is a plus too!
I would be in pain without Dr. Quan's care and guidance. Thank you so much!
